ANAD Support Groups
ANAD support groups are safe havens for those seeking support and understanding. The role of an ANAD group is to offer information and support to those who are affected by the eating disorder. It also provides information, possible resources, and hope for recovery.
These groups are forums for discovering that one is not alone--other people have similar problems and feelings. In group, one shares experiences, expresses feelings, gains honest feedback, and benefits from the experiences and support of others. ANAD groups are not intended to replace therapy, but adjunct therapy. ANAD is not in the business of treatment.
It is important that members understand this. Some may seek out our groups as a quick fix and then become disenchanted. It's a long journey developing an eating disorder and a long path for recovery. We are there to help you on your journey.
