Eating Disorders Coalition

The Eating Disorders Coalition (EDC) is a Washington, D.C. advocacy organization that has diligently worked toward the advancement of federal recognition of eating disorders as a public health priority. The EDC was founded in 2000 and has actively advocated on behalf of numerous pieces of important legislation including Mental Health Parity, Improved Nutrition and Physical Activity Act, The Eating Disorders Awareness, Prevention, and Education Act, Promoting Healthy Eating Behaviors in Youth Act, and worked very closely with Congressman Patrick Kennedy to introduce the FREED Act (Federal Response to Eliminating Eating Disorders).
